My Passion.....

I have always believed that any endeavor, when loving care is expended in lieu of sweat and tears, when passion is applied instead of effort, is elevated into art.

When such artwork imparts pleasure to the beholder as much as its creator, then true artistic expression has been conveyed. This has been my personal philosophy in all my hand-crafted products. Dreaming, making and offering them to other people who understand the very passion and love that went into each piece gives me great joy.

I impart a unique touch to all my creations, not by sheer force of manual labor, but by dint of artisanal passion. Every piece is like distillations from my daydreams, made real and personal by my hands.

To say each piece contains a piece of my creative soul is an understatement.

I never dwell on making my products unique or special, for these are not my ends.
Instead I personalize each creation the moment I conceptualize it. My products are not driven by whim but by personal expression. I take pride in the selection of materials, the endless proto-typing and testing, polishing and other relentless work all geared toward making my creations perfect.

Value is inherent in my products, whether in terms of practical use, utility or beauty. I always ascribe to product honesty, whether on environmental issues such as packaging, ecologically sourced materials or fair-trade policies with my suppliers.

When my creations finally come on their own, they become unique, expressive and one-of-a kind.

Love Affair with Carmenere......

My husband and I enjoy a glass or two every now and then.... well ok.... almost every night.  Our wine of choice used to be Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. It does not matter if they Australian, Californian, Italian, French and Chilean.  We drink it.  We are not pretending to be wine connoisseurs nor wine collectors. Ask us why the taste of a particular wine is so and most often than not, we just know how it taste like and if we enjoy it or not. You see we are just wine drinkers (and vodka, scotch, brandy & beer) We enjoy our wine. Period.  Until we discovered the joys of Carmenere.

One fine day in May.... we decided to hang out in this cozy wine place tucked in the middle of a busy mall.  They have mostly Spanish wines but carry others as well... they have fine cheeses (like Manchego - our favorite)  and cold cuts.  We decided to give it a try since our Little Contessa is enjoying a nearby Play Area and we have an hour to kill.  It was my turn to pick the wine so I went ahead and read the labels and decided on this particular bottle of red.  We placed our order for our usual wine accompaniment and settled in.... ready to give our amateur verdicts.

And we were not disappointed.  We were amazed on how the wine tasted.  We LOVED it.  We loved it so much that for the next month or so, we kept going back.  We even ordered 2 boxes to stock up and give as gifts to friends who appreciate good wine. We could not stop talking about it to friends. We were just thrilled to let people know about this wine that we stumbled upon.

It's been more than 8 months and we still look for Chilean Carmenere every time we need to stock up... and there is no turning back.  I will not look at Californian or Australian wine quite the same again.

I am not a wine connoisseur.  Never pretended to know anything about wine.  I just know what I like. And enjoy it.  And I love Carmenere.........
